16 Jan Official Opening Of Our Small Canteen
Official opening of the Small Canteen / Independent Living Skills Area
Wednesday 20th of December marked the official opening of our small canteen, an independent living area for our students. This space was gifted to us by John Paul Construction. Their team listened carefully to the requirements of our school, the results being an ergonomic, independent living space accessible for all which will help to provide our students with the gift of independence. We will be forever grateful to John Paul Construction for their generous contribution of time and resources which will have such a positive impact on the lives of our students and their families both now and into the future.
To thank John Paul for their generous contribution we had a ribbon cutting ceremony in which all students from our school attended. Our student council presented Bobby(the builder), Roy, Aisling and Peter from John Paul with hand crafted ceramics made by our students, a piece of artwork to hang proudly on the walls of the John Paul’s Office and a thank you card signed by all the students which helped to make the presentation extra special. Bobby, our hero was presented with a “Bob the Builder” hat which brought humour to the event as all the students joined together in singing the theme song from Bob the Builder!
Following the presentation PV3 were the first class to use the new space and students enjoyed making “festive berry smoothies”.
Once again, we would like to thank John Paul Construction for their generous contribution, enabling us to equip our students with lifelong independent living skills. We look forward to using this space with all students in our school community.
